Digital transformation has brought fundamental changes to social life. The development of the internet, social media, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and various digital applications has transformed the ways people communicate, work, learn, obtain information, and establish social relationships. These changes have become increasingly relevant in the context of Society 5.0, which places human beings at the center of technological utilization to improve quality of life. This article aims to analyze changes in social interaction patterns resulting from digital transformation within the Society 5.0 framework and to identify the challenges and opportunities associated with these changes. The study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method. Data were obtained from scholarly journal articles and academic publications, primarily published between 2021 and 2026, focusing on digital transformation, Society 5.0, social interaction, digital inequality, inclusion, sustainability, and human-centered technology. The analysis was conducted thematically through identification, categorization, interpretation, and synthesis of previous research findings. The results indicate that digital transformation has shifted social interaction from predominantly face-to-face patterns toward hybrid forms of interaction that combine physical and digital spaces. Digital technologies increase communication speed, expand social networks, facilitate access to information, and enable the development of interest-based communities. Within Society 5.0, technology has the potential to improve public services, education, healthcare, economic productivity, and social participation. Nevertheless, digital transformation also creates challenges, including unequal access and digital competencies, declining quality of face-to-face interaction, privacy and data-security risks, misinformation, technological dependence, exclusion of vulnerable groups, and changes in employment structures. Therefore, digital transformation needs to be directed toward a human-centered, inclusive, ethical, and sustainable approach. Society 5.0 should not merely be understood as a society that increasingly depends on technology, but rather as a social order that uses technology to strengthen human well-being, solidarity, inclusion, and the quality of interpersonal relationships.
